It started like most things start — with frustration.
I was trying to post a video. The video was done. Shot it in 10 minutes. Looked good. The idea was sharp. I was ready. And then I sat down to write the caption.
40 minutes later, I was still staring at a blinking cursor.
Not because I didn't know what to say. I had the idea. I just couldn't find the right words for it. The hook felt weak. The hashtags felt random. The description sounded like every other post on the platform. And the worst part? I ended up not posting at all. The video just sat in my drafts. Dead.
Sound familiar?
It wasn't just me
I started asking around — friends who made content, ghostwriters, people running brand pages. Every single one of them said some version of the same thing:
"The content is the easy part. The writing around it is what takes forever."
Captions. Hooks. Hashtags. Descriptions. Titles. Every platform wants something slightly different. Twitter wants punchy. Instagram wants storytelling. TikTok wants scroll-stopping. LinkedIn wants professional. And you're supposed to do all of this yourself, every single time you post.
That's when I realized — this wasn't a me problem. This was a creator problem.
So I built something
I'm not going to pretend this was smooth. I'm 17. I didn't have a CS degree. I didn't have a team. I didn't have investors. I had a laptop, a room in Lagos, and the kind of stubbornness that makes your parents worried.
The backend broke more times than I can count. I had to learn about DNS records, SMTP servers, MongoDB, API integration, deployment — stuff I didn't even know existed six months ago. There were nights where nothing worked and I genuinely considered quitting.
But the problem wouldn't leave my head. Every time I scrolled Twitter and saw a creator complaining about captions, every time I saw fire content with a weak hook, every time I watched a friend's post die because the description was mid — I remembered why I was building this.
What Scrabl actually does
The idea is simple. You upload your content — a video, an image, a screenshot, even just a raw idea. And Scrabl generates everything you need to post. Captions. Hooks. Hashtags. Descriptions. Titles. Posting advice. All optimized for your platform. In seconds.
Not some corporate marketing tool with 47 tabs and a $50/month price tag. Just a clean, simple tool built by a creator, for creators.
Because posting should feel like creating. Not cramming for an exam.
Where we're going
Scrabl is just getting started. The waitlist is open. The core engine is being built. And every feature we add is driven by one question: what would have saved me from staring at that blank caption box?
If you're a creator who's ever lost a post to drafts because the words around it weren't there — Scrabl is being built for you.
Join the waitlist and be first to try Scrabl when it launches.
